Without warning, a car accident can change the course of people’s lives forever. The impact of a crash can result in serious injuries being sustained which can even turn deadly. A South Carolina community is enduring such a tragedy with a recent car accidentthat killed one woman and injured three others.

Police say that the accident occurred around 8 p.m. At that time, an SUV driven by an 18-year-old man struck a car that had three occupants. One occupant, a 21-year-old woman, was killed as a result of the crash.

One of the other women in the car suffered fractures to her back. She was recently released from the hospital. Meanwhile, the other woman remains in the hospital with serious head injuries.

It was reported that the SUV also struck another car before coming to rest. The driver of that car, a 16-year-old boy, was not injured. The driver of the SUV also suffered injuries, but his condition is currently unknown.

South Carolina police have not stated whether they will be filing criminal charges as a result of the car accident. However, even if charges are not filed, the victims to this action may still pursue legal remedies for their injuries through the filing of a civil action. This suit, which may be initiated by the deceased woman’s family, as well as by the two surviving victims of the crash, may be able to provide some financial relief as they try and come to terms with this tragic event. To do so, however, it will be incumbent on them to prove that the death or injuries, as the case may be, were caused by the negligence of another party.
