Driving comes with a variety of inherent risks. Some of these risks have to do with factors such as bad weather or poorly lit roads. However, much of the danger on the road actually comes from other drivers on the road. People are sometimes unpredictable, and a motorist often has little idea what another driver is about to do while behind the wheel. This may have been what had caused a recent car accident in South Carolina that injured several people.

The crash happened in the afternoon in early November and resulted in three people being sent to the local medical facility to treat their injuries. The rescue crews arrived on the scene at approximately 2:30 p.m. One of the drivers was trapped in his vehicle, a silver sedan. Rescue crews worked for approximately 15 minutes to free the driver from his car.

The three injured people were transported to the hospital via ambulance. Parts of South Carolina 170 were shut down in order to clear the debris from the car crash. The authorities also continued their investigation, hoping to find evidence that would make what caused the crash more clear. The roads were closed for approximately one hour as a result of the incident.

Although no civil lawsuits have yet been filed as a result of the South Carolina car accident, the injured parties retain their right to do so based upon documented negligence by another party to the collision. A successful claim help them with the expenses, arising as a result of the incident, such as medical bills or lost income for time missed from work while recovering. However, plaintiffs will have to examine the evidence found by authorities in order to assess the viability of a lawsuit through our state civil court system based on evidence of negligence that proximately caused the accident and resulting injuries.
